                                  No Arabic pre-requisites for the class whatsoever. Students taking this course have no background in Arabic, not even basic letter recognition. The aim of the course is to familiarize students with Arabic script and build a beginners fluency in reading the precise text of the Arabic Qur'an.

                                  BRIEF COURSE DESCRIPTION:

                                  Students will study and drill all critical areas of Tajweed. The Course will predominantly involve oral drills though written exams on definitions and rule application are part of the course. Students completing the course will develop an accurate assessment of their own weaknesses in Tajweed and be in a better position to correct them overtime.

                                  This course covers the core concepts of Classical Arabic grammar as applied to the text of the Qur'an, base vocabulary needed to get a head start in Classical Arabic studies and an informal introduction to the literary characteristics of the Qur'an.
